The latest comic, Animal Control, Part 3, can be found here. So what's your reaction to it, people?

ARGH

Damn it! I knew this was going to happen. The moment I saw him driving with the phone, I thought to myself:

"Hang up and drive, goon."

*sighs*

On behalf of big lugs everywhere, I beg you: do not kill the big lug. It's not his fault that he's dumb.

Yes and no, I think. He's going to live, and be hurt. The fallout, or "not boring bit," will probably be in how Izzy handles this, will she think it's her fault? Guilt? Will they ever get back to this conversation?

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing how this affects all the relationships in the strip. Tanner is the big loveable goof, and when a person like that gets hurt it can affect lots of people in many different ways.

That... scared me.

Although I did wonder, what kind of crash makes a "WHUMP" sound? That sounds rather like driving into a haystack than into a wall or another car. I've seen one or two car crashes, and none of them made "WHUMP".

Anyway, scary. Did he wear a seatbelt? Kids: BUCKLE UP, ffs!

Please don't kill Tanner, thanks.

Wow. That's a real "jaw drop" moment. Excellent strip!

Could be a heart attack instead of a car crash. Tanner is kinda big and doesn't exactly eat right.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that car accidents are far likelier to "WHUMP" than a heart attack is. Unless by "attack," you mean "detonation."

One thing, though. Shock value strips have to be done sparingly, or you'll end up with a jaded audience. For example, minor characters getting hit by a car in Something Positive is in the process of going from "OMG" to "lol" to "yawn."
