More Than Meets The Eye, Part 1

SCENE:
Tanner is at a comics shop. The guy behind the counter, a young and wiry and fresh-faced guy in his mid-twenties, is talking to him.

COMIC GUY: So the Transformers movie is coming out this summer….

TANNER: So?

COMIC GUY: Seeing our childhood heroes up on-screen in full CGI? That’s gonna kick ass!

TANNER: Not interested.

COMIC GUY: But why?

TANNER: That’s your childhood. By the time Transformers came out, I was in a band, in high school, and kissed my first girl.

TANNER: So it has no interest for me.

(Comic Guy leaves, rejected. After his rejection of the guy, Tanner now looks sad.)

TANNER (thinking): ….So why do I feel like I’m the one who missed out?
