WEDDING, part 16

SCENE:
Karla, shoving Rayvyn aside, a la Tomís shoving the band aside in ďArt AttackĒ:

KARLA: OUDDA THE WAY, GOTHBUNNY! IíM A MINISTREND!

KARLA: You really wanna do this?

IZZY: Yes.

KARLA: ALL RIGHT! BY THE POWER OF THE FIRST CHURCH OF CAPTAIN TIGHTPANTS, I WED YOU! GRAB THAT HUNKY ASS OF TANNERíS! YOUíRE MARRIED!

(She then collapses in a full-panel shot as Tanner and Izzy look on. CUT TO: Nerds, including Metalhead and others, applauding, impressed and smiling.)

METALHEAD: Best. Wedding. Ever.

GENERIC NERD: A wedding as performance art? What an amazing idea!

Roni Says:

This strip is the perfect example of why I find it so hard to say how long it takes me to do a strip. We first came up with this storyline in February, then significantly revised it in July, right before we started. Ferrett sent me this pack of scripts a few weeks ago. I critiqued them, and responded with some revisions. Ferrett sent me some re-writes, I altered the action in the first panel. Ferrett sent me the bubbles for the dialog. When I finally sat down and did the rough sketch, it was rather static and not worthy of the climax, so I threw it out and started again. He approved the rough, freeing me to go on to the final.

This one is a pretty involved strip; 5 panels, 15 figures, some action, it took me several hours, in and around work and a freelance piece. How long did this take me? 9 months? 8 hours? With our pattern of work, wait, approve, revise, short of keeping a minute by minute breakdown for many months, I have no idea.
